We are building a new partnership with the “City Fellowships in Financial Services” program that offers a unique, international opportunity to work with Goldman Sachs or Morgan Stanley in the city of London, the world's most international financial services center.
The fellowship program offers a unique opportunity for members currently in investment banking or other financial institutions to get in-depth experience and knowledge of global markets, and this message is being routed directly to NABA members for your consideration.
To be eligible, you must be a US citizen with a degree in accounting, business studies, finance or economics. You must also have at least two years experience with a US investment bank or other financial institution and have a strong commitment to a career in financial services. NABA members who have a Masters Degree in Accounting or are already a CPA are especially welcome. Please note the deadline is fast approaching. Applications must be received by Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Banking on our Future - NABA Metro DC Day of Service

The Financial Literacy and Education Committee will be participating with Operation Hope's Banking on our Future on Thursday, April 28, 2011 8:30am-12:00pm. The Metro DC Chapter will be providing financial education on money management and other financial related courses to students at Roosevelt Senior High School in Washington, DC. We are looking for volunteers to participate in this wonderful opportunity.
Training is required for the event and will be available on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 and Wednesday, April 20, 2011 as a webinar from 12pm-1:30pm. Volunteers will have the option to work in shifts since this is a normal workday. If you are interested or have any questions, please send an email to financialliteracy@nabametrodc.org. Black Inventors: From Africa to America

Gibbs, Historian, Author, Smithsonian Institution Scholar and Founder of the African History and Culture Lecture Series, will discuss all the Black inventors, and their skills, expertise and the legacies they brought and built from Africa to America. You may be surprised to find out that some of the greatests inventions in history where conceived, developed and patented by African Americans. Guided Museum Tour will be given from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. CR Gibbs will begin speaking at 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
