President’s Message
Welcome to the official website of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA), Metropolitan Washington, DC Chapter. NABA is one of the leading professional association’s that represents the interests of African-Americans and other minorities in the fields of accounting, auditing, taxation, finance, consulting, government, and information technology. Our inclusive mindset encourages membership from those from the entry-level staff to senior executives and current and future entrepreneurs.
It is our mission as a chapter within the national NABA organization to promote the fundamental missions to “…address the professional needs of its members and to build leaders that shape the accounting and finance profession.” To achieve this mission, the NABA Metro DC chapter has a variety of exciting and stimulating events planned for the 2011 – 2012 fiscal year to support our membership. We look forward to having you participate in one of the many informative professional development sessions, beneficial community service initiatives, career enhancing networking opportunities along with the many other member benefits. Digital communication and the availability of real-time information has become an essential part of our daily lives. With that in mind, we hope that you find information about NABA Metro DC, our upcoming events, the NABA community and its constituents easily accessible within these pages.
For over 30 years, the NABA Metro DC Chapter has served the Metropolitan Washington, DC community in many different areas. We strive to be a model of excellence for professionals that believe in mentoring students to become future business and NABA leaders. We will continue to create themes for our general memberships meetings that promote personal and leadership growth, as well as exciting networking opportunities that allow us to share our experiences in a comfortable environment.
